Windows now saves all your documents to the cloud. If you use the current version of Outlook, it saves all your email to the cloud and there is no way of opting out. There are alternatives for most of not all common desktop applications, others will run in Linux if they can’t be replaced and if your workflow is web based, almost everything will work in the same way.
